No New Posts Seasonal Changes

Here you’ll get the information on the latest seasons and weather patterns of the area. These will be changed every two months, and as the RPG-year will consist of a possibly shorter years (needing only two-four main seasons), they will need to be kept an eye on as this can tell you whether or not you can breed.

No New Posts Dangers

Whenever there’s a threat from flooding, man, predators, invasions, diseases etcetera, you will find them posted here. Generally they will be updated along the same time as the seasons, so keep an eye out for what’s going on in your home.

No New Posts Rules

Ok, every website for role-playing games must have rules, and because it is a large RPG, there are a lot of rules. But instead of long lists down to your nose, they’re broken up into two sub-boards and separate boards. The areas are GENERAL and IN-GAME

Sub-boards: General Rules, In-Game Rules

No New Posts Animals Accepted

On this board you will find the lists of species available for you to play. There will be a very large amount as Africa is filled with them, but I will carry out restrictions to some species. If there’s one problem with RPGs where you can play practically any animal, its too many predators and too little prey, remember to be realistic in your choices, and don’t hesitate to try something different!

No New Posts Out of Character Board

This is the board where you are permitted to post out of character, chat with other players, and ask questions. You can also advertise here, get to know people, get updates on the rules, and post if you’re going to be absent. But please keep the rules and on the actual board, just post questions and general chat, there are sub-boards for other areas.

No New Posts Breeding & Birth Notices

Here you need to register the birth of an offspring and whether it has grown up. Also, if you have bred and your pregnancy term is over, you can get the stats here, we also allow breeding posts on this board, in fact I’d prefer them to be here, so remember to keep to the rules.

No New Posts Human Area

Not every animal is going to spend a life not knowing humans, as there are still research points and compounds. Here, imported animals can sit and wait to be released, as can animals that have been badly ill. But you cannot live here completely.

No New Posts Death Grounds

This is a place where you can register the death of a character. Simply remember the rules. You can have a graphic death here or a calm simple sleep, you don’t have to die here of course, but remember to post here saying your character is dead.

Sub-board: Dead Characters

No New Posts Kurrad Savannah

There is a large long stretch of land at the very edge of the African region that is made up of giant grassland, the Kurrad Savannah. The name has no meaning though, at least not in any tongue, but the scientists felt it should have its own language, and so it is the “Massive Grassland”. Here there are several lakes and pools dotted about, as well as one main stretch of river where animals happen to migrate, and get into hassle. This is the biggest mass of the region, and can hold many, many, savannah animals.

No New Posts The Norgott Mountains

Next to the main savannah, these mountains are the most northern area in the Africa Section. They are a mix of dead, active, and dormant volcanoes as well as rifts, gullies, and canyons. They are cool thought and keep a large amount of water around them. However, there are fewer grazing areas here, but more opportunities for fruit loving monkeys.

No New Posts The Mountain Foot

This is the third most northern part of the region; it is the rocky slopes from the bottom of the North Mountains that slide into the lake regions. Here there are varying habitats including highlands, cliffs, jungles, forests, plains, and the very edge of it opens out into the wider land. There are many watering areas here, and it tends to be quite cool, but there are pot-holes and uneven grounds, its not a good place for a heavy animal.

No New Posts Jungle Lowlands

These are the lowland areas of the land, they are not too large and are probably the smallest area around, but they are covered in large water sources and barely go dry. They are prime habitats for gorillas and have lots of grazing regions and thickly forested places where you can seek seclusion. Few predators like the short grasses enough to hunt around here, but watch out, it’s good leopard country.

No New Posts Oestgott Forests

These are the eastern areas and they are made primarily of thick jungle forests that spread upwards along a ridge into the kind of trees you would only see at the foot of a mountain. They sit on the eastern side next to the Catastrophe Valley but also near the Scattered Highlands. Here there is room for the more nervous and secretive of jungle and forest animals, there are mainly smaller predators, but it is a prime place to have an accident.

No New Posts The Virgott Lakes

These are massive lakes and waterways that form an inland delta between the eastern and western lands. It sits almost at the centre of the African Dawn and is prime territory for anything, especially those animals that like water or rely on stealth for hunting prey around forest edges. They are filled with avenues and arteries of water that almost never dries up and also with thick lush grasses, high rocky tors that support some animals and yet also regions of thick forest. It is almost a duplicate to the Okavango.

No New Posts The Western Plains

The western plains sit the other side of the Virgott lakes and they are quite dry, the lakes and one very thin and looping river is the only source of water here, and it can dry quickly. Fires are common, but so is migration. If it were to be compared to any known African landscape, it’s a clone of the Masai Mara, but it is much bigger, and there’s a lot more grass and room. This is prime grazing and prime predator country, but there are patches of young and elder acacia in this land, so it is also a prime spot to find giraffe, and leopards, and a few other bush animals.

No New Posts The Tantold Delta

The Tantold Delta is an area near the sea edge of the African Dawn where the water of one of the mighty rivers of the region flows away into the sea. It is a thick marshland and oasis surrounded by the edges of the Burning Desert; it is a safe house for any of the desert dwellers and any of the swamp dwellers of the area. It is a very nice place to get ambushed by crocodiles though!

No New Posts The Catastrophe Valley

The name is a bad one but the place is not as dangerous as it sounds. The area is very large lush grassland with room for a lot of wildlife and a lot of trouble, this is the place where a research outpost sat for a little while until it got damage after an earth-quake, but that makes it a prime place to roam. There are a few strange rocky outcrops amongst the valley, and it sits beside the Virgott Lakes, but be careful here, rockslides and earthquakes, floods and fires, and all manner of problems can occur here. Yet it’s nice too!

No New Posts The Rancid Geysers

The Rancid Geysers sit at the bottom of the mountain feet before the desert, they are smelly but amazingly fertile. The geysers sit with a large field around them that is filled with monoxide and it becomes a death plain for animals. This area is a prime place for larger and more willing scavengers. But in general great steppes and plain hills of thick grassland with low valleys fill the Rancid place, and there are even forests because of the great minerals in the soils.

No New Posts Burning Desert

The Burning Desert is the thought of as one of the worst possible place to live, but if you are a desert animal, then this place is the best for you. It is almost the same size as the Sahara, but less harsh and the rainfall happens for just a little longer then most other dry deserts. There are more oasis and regions for rest and plant growth, but that’s the problem. Within the middle of this desert, is a massive volcano that sits alone and ominous, with a few sulphur pools resting around it. Be careful of it, because one explosion can cause massive sandstorms!

No New Posts The Black-vale Jungle

Despite the fact that it is a deep forest jungle, the Black-Vale is smaller then the African Congo, but much more threatening. Though here the risk of being attacked by a human is unlikely, it is still a secretive place with underground caves and tunnels, places you can fall and never get up again, or shallow valleys by clay licks. It is a grand place for the mysterious and shyer creatures, and at the heart is the black vale itself, a dark open vale with mud holes ringed around it, a lake at its centre, and yet more grass that’s juicy!

No New Posts The Scattered Highlands

The highlands are the rocky rifts at the edge of the Sougott Valleys, it prevents any of the dust and fumes of the dangerous areas of the Desert reaching the beautiful land, and it keeps water going there. The place is filled with plateaus in random places, lots of grass and the occasional lonely tree, but there is always somewhere here that can be exploited by animals. It is probably an area similar to the highlands around the Rift Valley, and there are a few lakes filled with water here. Rainfall is high and common, but it is a great and suitable place for Ethiopian Wolves and Gelada Baboons to live.

No New Posts Sougott Valleys

These are the southern valleys, named by some of the European scientists, along with the north, west, and eastern areas. This is the very edge of the section and sits just in front of the Rancid Geysers. But it is a series of lush valleys that sit slightly slopped and incredibly flat in various places. There are three major rivers here and a lot of room, there are also a few stretches of forests and other regions for animals to live. But there are always lots of predators.
